Ryan M. Koch, 37, died Aug. 11. He graduated from Prospect High School and earned a B.A. from Columbia College. One of his greatest passions was comedy. Twice in his lifetime, he was diagnosed and survived cancer. He faced his latest diagnosis bravely with the support of his friends and family. He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Linda, a sister, nephew, niece, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral arrangements were provided by Oehler Funeral Home, Des Plaines.

Jo-Ann H. Miller, 84, died on Aug. 17. She was an interior designer who owned her own business and was a graduate of the design program at Harper College. Robert Joseph Ryan, 88, died on Aug. 13. He is survived by his wife, Shelia, four daughters and their spouses, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He worked for Clark Foam Products from the age of 16 until the year he retired at the age of 88. He also served eight years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Tadeusz Zurowski

Tadeusz Zurowski, 76, died on Aug. 20 after a decade-long battle with ALS. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, two sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren, two brothers, a sister, and nieces and nephews. Zurowski first immigrated to the U.S. to find a job and “the American Dream.” He traveled from Poland to the U.S., finally moving with his wife and children in 2000. Funeral arrangements were provided by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, Niles.
